Helpful Tips to Ensure the Best Results for Ultherapy Treatment

Sagging skin is a sign of aging that can be effectively treated without having to go under the knife. Non-invasive cosmetic treatments like Ultherapy are an effective way of correcting sagging facial and neck skin, as well as wrinkles on the décolletage. Ideal for men and women who are not too keen on undergoing surgery to treat this type of skin condition, the treatment is a quick and easy procedure that can be over within an hour or less.

To ensure best results, below are a few recommendations you can follow:

Before the Procedure

Before your scheduled Ultherapy treatment, Dr. Tang will generally advise you to avoid the following:

Using bleaching creams and exfoliating products on the target area at least three days prior to treatment

  • Prolonged sun exposure
  • Artificial Tanning
  • Blood thinning medications and alcohol two weeks before the procedure

After the Procedure

There is little to no downtime for Ultherapy treatment. You can go back to your usual activities right after the procedure. However, there are a three important things that you should remember:

  • Ask someone to drive you from the clinic if you opted to receive any form of oral sedative.
  • Wear sunblock to protect the treated area from harmful UV rays.
  • If you received anesthesia for the procedure, sleep on several pillows for the first two to three days after treatment until the medication wears off.

If you experience mild tenderness, swelling or bruising, don’t be alarmed. These are normal and minimal side effects of the treatment. Not all patients experience these but if you do, it is recommended that you seek a follow-up consultation with Dr. Tang. Rest assured, however, that these are nothing to be concerned about. These minor side effects will naturally subside in a few days to 1 week.
