Some patients mistakenly assume that the treatment did not work for them because they still see these lines and wrinkles.
2. Botox paralyzes the muscles that cause facial contractions
Botox injections do not erase your lines and wrinkles. Instead, they temporarily limit the ability of the muscles to contract or move that causes the lines and wrinkles to appear. In other words, this treatment softens the muscles that cause your dynamic wrinkles to appear. Once the effects of Botox wear off, you will notice the same lines and wrinkles once more every time you make a facial expression.
3. Botox cosmetic treatments come with a few restrictions
Immediately after your Botox treatment, your doctor will advise you against doing certain things like lying down, resting your head on the table facing forward, strenuous exercises and/or physical activities, and rubbing or massaging the treated area(s).
Your doctor may advise you to refrain from these for four hours or up to 24 hours. It is important that you strictly follow your doctor’s instructions as failing to do so will affect results. If you want to achieve the best results, follow your doctor’s orders.
