Top 4 Tips for Getting Into Shape for CoolSculpting

One of the latest technologies in fat reduction treatments is CoolSculpting, a fat-freezing treatment that eliminates stubborn fat on the midsection. This means you can finally have that flat tummy you’ve been dreaming of, and that shapely silhouette you’ve always envied in your friends. But before you come in for a consultation, Dr. John Tang, M.D., advises CoolSculpting isn’t for everyone. There are certain criteria you need to meet before you can be considered for CoolSculpting.

In a nutshell, patients need to be within 1 to 20 pounds of their ideal weight. This means that patients who are looking for a weight loss program/treatment shouldn’t rely on CoolSculpting because it isn’t a weight loss solution. That said, here are a few tips to help you get into shape for your CoolSculpting treatment:

1. Check your ideal body weight

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an adult person’s ideal body weight can be measured through their Body Mass Index or BMI. BMI “is a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters.” Depending on your BMI, you could be underweight, a healthy weight, overweight, or obese.

If your BMI reveals you’re within the healthy weight range, then you can go ahead and schedule your CoolSculpting consultation to determine if you’re already the ideal candidate for the treatment.

2. Eliminate junk from your diet

If you’ve been consuming chips, sodas, sweets, and other unhealthy foods practically every day, then right there is where your weight problems lie. These are the reasons why you’ve accumulated fat in your midsection, as well. But before you can undergo CoolSculpting to eliminate belly fat, eliminate all types of junk foods from your diet first. If you can’t do it cold turkey, then one at a time. The point is to eventually stop eating all types of junk.

3. Get physical

You don’t have to go to the gym to get fit. Do the exercises at home. Jog around the yard. Do push-ups in the living room. Dance to your favorite tunes for 20 minutes. Clean the house. There are so many physical things you can do inside your home. The goal is to start being physically active and stop being a couch potato.

4. Feed your mind, too

A healthy mind and body make for a healthy, happy you. So as you start feeding your body with healthy foods to get into shape for CoolSculpting; so should you start feeding your mind with healthy stuff, too. Read an inspirational book. Watch motivational programs. It doesn’t matter what medium you use; what matters is you stop feeding your mind with negativity and start giving it a healthy dose of positivity and happy thoughts.

As you prepare for CoolSculpting, you’ll find that you’ve become healthier inside-out.
