Suns Spots/Hyperpigmentation

SHOWCASING THE MAGIC OF THE INTENSE PULSE LIGHT (IPL™)

Rejuvé offers state-of-the-art technology that not only rejuvenates and renews the skin, but also removes age spots and treats broken capillaries, Rejuvé uses the Intense Pulse Light (IPL™) from Lumenis, which is considered the gold standard in light-based technology. It was FDA approved in 1995 and involves a process called photorejuvenation where a light beam targets the brown and red pigments causing them to heat up. This heating known as photothermolysis eventually breaks up the pigment in the skin causing the brown spots to flake off and causing the capillaries to shrink (see diagram).

This Non-invasive treatment can be customized according to the patients’ preferences, color, and skin condition. The treatment comprises of: Photorejuvenation.

The benefits of Photorejuvenation are many and help to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, even skin complexion, and treats acne. Besides treating broken capillaries and sun spots/age spots, this treatment is used to improve the texture/tone, treats redness from Acne Rosacea and helps to slightly improve pore size.

Photorejuvenation is non-invasive and has no systemic side effects and no radiation. It involves 3-6 full-face treatments at 2-3 week intervals. The neck, chest, arms, hands can be treated and though ideal for younger patients, all patients who show signs of aging could benefit as there is natural and gradual improvement with minimal to no downtime.

Photorejuvation is a well-tolerated procedure. A topical anesthesia is applied for 15 minutes. Photorejuvenation does not cause any discomfort later. Patients going through this process can expect minimal redness and swelling for 1-2 days and blisters rarely occur. Age spots will become darker, will surface, and flake off in approximately 1 week and the blood vessels will lighten.

Though almost everyone who desires to go through the magical transformation of IPL and its unique photorejuvenation process, people with an active skin disease or infection, very dark skin, an active tan, and unrealistic expectations cannot have IPL and this includes having incorrect clinical indications ie deep scars, severe skin laxity.

IPL™ and Laser Applications are used in IPL Skin Treatments using photorejuvenation for treating superficial and deeper leg veins, vascular Lesions, pigmented Lesions and hair removal.

Conditions for vascular lesions are manifest in various malformations and complications such as, hemangiomas, port wine stains, redness from broken capillaries and venous malformations. The other chronic problems are Poikiloderma, leg and facial telangiectasia, telangiectatic matting and spider and reticular varicose veins. Pigmentation problems occur in the forms of pigmented lesions, lentigines, Café au lait macules, Ephelides, Nevi Spili, seborrheic keratoses and some tattoos.

During your complementary consultation at Rejuvé, we will personalize a treatment plan for you and will provide an estimate on the number of treatments, cost, and expectations. Please see Connie's Testimonial.
