Permanent Cosmetics

Permanent makeup procedures are performed using traditional tattoo or coil machines, the pen or rotary machine and the non-machine or hand method. After an initial consultation, the technician will apply the pigment to the desired area. Permanent cosmetics may be required at least one or more follow up visits for adjusting the shape and color or density of the pigment.

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. As with any tattoo, fading can occur, requiring periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color re-freshing. It is important to consider your personal desires carefully when selecting a potential permanent cosmetic makeup technician.

Understanding Permanent Makeup

The growing field of Skin Care and Makeup has merged with Tattooing, to present a specialized segment known as Permanent Cosmetics.

Permanent makeup, also, called Permanent Cosmetics or Micro Pigment Implantation (MPI) allows individuals to look their best, even when busy. MPI can be used by women and men of every age and race to improve or correct their appearance.

One of the many benefits of Permanent Cosmetics, once applied, is that the use of simple cosmetics is reduced on a daily basis, to never look like makeup is necessary. Permanent Cosmetics does not smear, and takes years to wear off, making it perfect for those who need to look their best at all times. Further, Permanent Cosmetics only needs a touch up between three to seven years, depending on implantation, area and pigment used. Many who have limited dexterity, oily skin, or suffer from allergic reactions to makeup, rely on Permanent Cosmetics to replace unwanted products they cannot tolerate.

MPI is as much an art as it is a science; and not just a process. You should never shop for any Permanent Cosmetic services based on a promise and a price. This is a highly skilled service requiring personal care and expertise. To determine if the technician is right for you, choose your technician very carefully. By considering the training, certifications, experience, licensing, business model, including insurance, plus, clientele and examples of their previous work. There are many individuals, technicians and spas performing MPI with inadequate training and experience, justifying their reasonable pricing.

One area which will separate the experienced MPI professional is complete "Pigment and Color Knowledge". There are certain situations when a patient will need to correct and camoflage certain problems and only having a complete understanding of skin tones, will one be able to correct and achieve the desired result.

Take the extra time in evaluating your technician and services provided, it will be the difference between being satisfied for the years their work lasts.

At Rejuvé, we have the one the premiere Permanent Cosmetic specialist.
