CoolSculpting After 50: Removing Stubborn Belly Fat Caused by Menopause

Posted by October 22nd, 2019 in News

Women in their late forties and fifties experience a dramatic decline in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels. It is during this period when they go through one of the most challenging parts of aging, menopause, which can wreak havoc on a women’s body; physically and mentally. And CoolSculpting is but one of several cosmetic procedures that older women turn to during this time.

CoolSculpting for women after menopause

What happens to the body during menopause?

When perimenopause—the period when a woman’s body “prepares” for menopause—begins, the most dramatic change that occurs is a decrease in estrogen levels, as mentioned above. The effects of this change can be quite alarming, even devastating, for some women. To say that perimenopause and menopause because significant effects is an understatement. Hot flashes, fatigue, irregular periods, painful PMS, mood swings, sleep issues, and depression are but a few of the symptoms that perimenopausal and menopausal women experience, and these can occur at any given time, without warning.

As if these symptoms weren’t enough, one other effect of perimenopause and menopause is the buildup of stubborn fats in the belly area. The reason for this is that instead of the weight being distributed in the body, it now prefers to accumulate in the belly area. Where before a woman was shapely, as she ages, the weight does not go into her hips anymore but straight to the belly.

CoolSculpting to remove stubborn belly fat

An active woman in her 40s or 50s who never dealt with stubborn belly fat before can undergo a CoolSculpting fat removal treatment. This is one of the latest breakthroughs in non-invasive fat reduction procedures today. The treatment uses a fat-freezing technology to freeze the stubborn fat cells in your belly area up to a degree where they are “killed.”

The dead fat cells will then be naturally eliminated by the body, which is primarily the reason why you won’t see immediate results and you probably won’t feel any different when walking out of the clinic. However, this does not mean that CoolSculpting didn’t work for you. It just needs time to show you optimal results.

Noticeable results may begin to appear around the third week following your treatment. Optimal results will begin to show by the second or third month after your CoolSculpting treatment. Results are permanent, which means the eliminated fats won’t reappear in your body. However, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to maintain your weight so it can keep the stubborn fats off.

How many treatments do you need to achieve optimum results?

The answer depends entirely on the amount of fat to be removed. For some patients, one session is enough; for others, two or up to three sessions is required.

Note: CoolSculpting is recommended for people who are within 1-20 pounds of their ideal weight. It is not a fat reduction treatment that addresses obesity.
